The Egyptian Queen Cleopatra is known as the most beautiful woman in the whole world. For centuries people have admired her beauty, her talents, her body and her looks. Beauty of Queen Cleopatra intrigued many men and women for centuries. She is one of the most famous figures of antique times and the stories of her beauty and her charm live up till now. She was described by the Roman historians as a woman of surpassing beauty. When it comes to beauty and natural ways to preserve the beauty much can be learnt from Cleopatra, the Egyptian queen who is regarded as one of the most beautiful ladies in history. Luckily, her beauty secrets are well documented and it is possible for women everywhere to test them. Cleopatra had some of the most amazing and magical beauty secrets. One of the most famous beauty secret was that she slept with a golden mask on her face. Well it is not possible for us to have a golden mask on our face but we can follow some of her beauty trick which are very affordable that will help us to have good beautiful and glowing skin.
Whenever I think of beautiful hair I think of Rapunzel and whenever we talk about eternal beauty of a woman the first woman that comes to your mind is Cleopatra, isn’t it. Cleopatra was the most famous and beautiful iconic figure of the Ancient medieval period how was it possible for her to turn heads off so many men at that time. We all know that she was beautiful and intelligent ,she also had an amazing voice and I have read everywhere that she was very seductive also. Cleopatra has some beauty tricks which are very affordable and which all of us can prepare for ourselves and get that amazing beautiful skin and glow from within.
So let’s get stared:
It is believed that Cleopatra used to mix milk of a young donkey with fresh honey and almond oil. This was her top secret for soft and glowing skin. It is also believed that whenever she used to travel she used to take along three-four young donkeys to get the milk for the baths. That sounds weird, well we cannot use donkey’s milk to get glowing skin but we can prepare that milk and honey bath with three cups of milk, add in half a cup of honey and 5 tablespoons of almond or olive oil, then pour this mixture into your bath tub and soak yourself in this miracle bath mix and make your skin soft and supple.
Rosewater facial toner:
Egyptian queen Cleopatra used to love rose water, it made her skin soft and smooth and that is why she used rosewater as a facial toner. You can achieve the same results by wiping your face with pure rose water in the morning and evening or by spraying it on your face throughout the day as and when needed. I like to keep my rose water in the refrigerator and spraying the chilled rosewater on my face give such a nice and soothing feeling. Try using rosewater as a facial toner and see how luminous and glowing your skin becomes after using it for a few days.
Body Scrub of Cleopatra:
Cleopatra love to scrub her for body with natural scrubs made out of sea salt. For better results of the milk and honey bath servants of Cleopatra used to massage her body with amazing natural scrubs. For preparing such as a scrub you will need 2 tablespoons of sea salt and add in 3 tablespoons of thick natural flavour free cream. Mix the sea salt with cream gently in a bowl and gently rub it on your body in circular motions. Make sure to leave the scrub on your skin for at least 5 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. This scrub will gently exfoliate your skin and make your body feel smooth and soft like heaven. I love to scrub my body with natural scrubs and believe me the result is just phenomenal. No commercial scrub can give you the effect of a natural homemade body scrub.
Apple cider vinegar for Face Rinse:
Apple Cider Vinegar has tonic action that promotes blood circulation and it regulates the pH of the skin too. Cleopatra knew that even back then so she used apple cider vinegar to rinse her face. To prepare the face rinse you will need one fourth cup of apple cider vinegar and one basin filled with warm water. Mix the Apple Cider Vinegar into warm water and splash your face with the rinse or just dunk your face into the basin and let your face soak in that rinse for a couple of minutes. Then pat dry your face using a towel and you will experience glowing skin within 2-3 times of usage. Apple cider vinegar works as a natural agent for the skin and the results of using it are really pleasing.
Henna as Nail Polish:
Queen Cleopatra used natural nail polish for her nails and she dyed them with henna that gave her fingernails a lovely reddish brown colour and also protected them. This trick may sound a bit weird in today’s context when we have so many brands and collection of nail paints at our disposal and I don’t think anybody will dye their nails but still it is interesting to see how she used henna for her nails.
Face cream of Cleopatra:
Cleopatra had amazing glowing skin and for that she used natural diy cream which needed just two or three ingredients. You will need two tablespoons of aloe vera juice, 4 drops of Rose Essential oil, one tablespoon of almond oil and 2 spoons of beeswax. Heat the beeswax and the almond oil until the substance gets liquid and then add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. After the liquid cools down you can put it in your fridge and this cream will last you for about a week. Use this cream every day and night after cleansing your face and see how natural creams can also be so effective and make your skin glow from within.
White Clay as Facial Mask:
Cleopatra was very particular in her ways to look gorgeous. She had curated her beauty regime herself and one of her close guarded secrets was the preparation of facial mask using white clay. For the white clay mask you will need 2 tablespoon of white clay, 2 tablespoons of milk, one tablespoon of pure organic honey and 1 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and apply this on your face and let it sit on your face for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. You can also make this facial Mask in large quantities and can store the remaining in the refrigerator for a few days. You will notice refreshed and amazing looking skin within a few times of application.
Deep Conditioning Warm Oil Treatment for the Hair:
Cleopatra also had very beautiful hair and warm oil treatment was one of my favorites as it made her hair silky and shiny. For preparing the warm oil treatment you need to mix in 2 tablespoons of olive oil with 2 tablespoons of castor oil. Warm the oil over low temperature before massaging them onto the scalp. After applying the oil, massage your scalp for 2 to 3 minutes and then put on a shower cap and wait for 30 minutes and let the old penetrate into your scalp. Followed by washing and conditioning your hair. Hot oil treatment prove to be very good for the hair when done regularly.
Cleopatra’s Grape Facial:
Cleopatra love to use grape facial for her over tanned skin. For this grape facial you need to crush green grapes to a pulp and add honey to it and mix together. Apply on a clean face and leave it for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes massage it into your skin and rinse off with warm water.
Red Ochre for Lip Colour and Antimony Sulphide for Eye Makeup:
Cleopatra mixed red ochre and fat to colour her lips and celery and hemp combined for soothing her eyes. Antimony Sulphide were the black chemicals that she used to make her eyes, eyebrows and lashes dark. Well nobody is going to use this beauty secret of Cleopatra in today’s time because there so many products for this purpose. I just shared it to let you guys know about her beauty secrets.
It is one of the most well known cosmetic product that came out of the Egyptian culture. It was made from heavy metals with high concentration of lead salts. Though lead can be dangerous, the Egyptians processed and filtered the materials for upto 30 days before creating the eyeliner prototype. The low levels of lead left over actually protected the eyes from the Sun and boosted the eyes ability to fight infections. The Egyptians were also the first purveyors of the cat eye that we all love so much.
Cleopatra’s Natural Shampoo:
Cleopatra had beautiful hair and the secret of a beautiful luxurious hair was hidden in just one natural ingredient. She used to use one egg mixed with water for washing hair, spreading it from the hair roots to the ends of the hair and then rinsing it off with normal water. We all know that egg makes the hair very soft and nourished and we can all use this simple hair mask to get long luxurious tresses like Cleopatra.
Cleopatra’s Natural Beauty Soap:
One of the beauty secrets of Cleopatra is that she loved using oatmeal to cleanse her skin. Oatmeal not only cleanses the skin it also eliminates the dirt and exfoliates the dead skin and is also moisturizing and nourishing for the skin. Soaps can be a bit harsh on the skin so try using this natural soap for beautiful skin. To cleanse the skin using oatmeal mix oats with warm water in a bowl and wait until the oats get soft, then gently massage the soft oats away all over your face and body for about a minute. Rinse off your skin with warm and then cold water to moisturize the skin.
